July construction spending rises 0.6% WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) -- Outlays for U.S. construction projects rose 0.6% in July, rebounding after an unexpected decline in June, the U.S. Department of Commerce reported Tuesday. Economists polled by MarketWatch had expected a 0.3% increase in July's construction spending. Spending on residential construction rose 0.5% in July, while nonresidential construction spending increased 0.6%.
