Senate panel to start hearings on Syria on Tuesday NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- While lawmakers are not scheduled back on Capitol Hill until next week, the Senate Foreign Relations Committee has scheduled hearings Tuesday and Wednesday on President Barack Obama's proposed military strikes against Syria. "Congress's role in U.S. military force has too often been abdicated to presidential authority, so I look forward to a vigorous debate on this important authorization," U.S. Sen. Bob Corker, R-Tenn, a ranking member of the Foreign Relations Committee said in a statement. Obama during the weekend said he believes limited military action should be taken in response to the use of chemical weapons in Syria, but that he would still seek congressional authorization. daily weblog archives www.usdemocrats.com/weblogcompendium usdemocrats.proboards.comtwitter www.twitter.com/usdemocratsgeo information portal www.1t23.com
