Florida's Seventh Congressional District is a U.S. congressional district in Florida. Currently, the residents of the Seventh District are represented by Republican John L. Mica. Mica won re-election in 2006 defeating Democratic challenger Jack Chagnon 63%-37%. George W. Bush received 57% of the vote in this district in 2004. This district is made up of St. Johns, Flagler, a very small portion of eastern Putnam County, the center area of Volusia County which includes the cities of Deland and Deltona and the northeastern coast portion which includes the cities of Ormond Beach, Daytona Beach, St. Augustine, much of western Seminole County and a small portion of Orange County which serve as suburban homes to many middle- upper-middle class Orlando commuters and their families. The residents are largely white, affluent, and well-educated. The district is often safe and reliable for Republicans.[1] en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Florida%27s_7th_congressional_district
