U.S. and Afghanistan reach accord on night raids from MarketWatch.com - MarketPulse NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- The United States and Afghanistan reached agreement Sunday on special forces operations in Afghanistan, putting Afghans in control of night raids in the insurgency-riddled country, according to media reports. The deal, which covers all special operations in Afghanistan, was expected to smooth the ground toward a pact between Washington and Kabul on the U.S. presence after 2014, when the bulk of the 130,000 NATO-led troops are scheduled to leave, the AFP reported.
