Families. A stronger economy. Canada as a global leader again.
This is what the Liberal Party is fighting for and it’s up to each of us to make sure everyone else knows it.
That’s why last Friday I launched the Working Families Tour in Winnipeg, and then took our message to St. John’s, Moncton and Montreal. It’s what I’m talking about around Toronto today and what Liberal MPs have fanned out across the country to talk about on our Budget Outreach Tour.
I know you’re being asked the same questions I am: What do Liberals stand for? What are we fighting for?
Here’s my answer:
First, Liberals are fighting for your family. That means child care and post-secondary education for your kids, family care to look after a sick loved one, and a more secure pension for retirement.
Second, Liberals are fighting for a strong economy. That means paying down the Conservatives’ record $56-billion deficit instead of spending billions on tax breaks to the largest corporations, stealth fighter jets, and US-style mega prisons.
Third, Liberals are fighting to restore Canada’s leadership in the world. That means taking real action on climate change, creating Global Network Agreements with India and China and respecting our democratic institutions at home if we hope to speak for democracy abroad.
So next time you’re asked what Liberals stand for, look them in the eye, and tell them straight up: We stand for families and Canada’s future.
You can find out more about Liberal priorities and where we stand on the issues at Liberal.ca.
And if you’d like, you can print, clip and save the wallet-sized cue card below.
