Nasdaq closes at record for a fourth session
The Nasdaq Composite closed at a record for a fourth session in a row on Wednesday as solid earnings supported technology shares but the broader market finished little changed. The unexpected firing of Federal Bureau of Investigation Director James Comey by President Donald Trump weighed on the market but some of the pressure was offset by a recovery in oil prices. The Nasdaq Composite Index rose 8 points, or 0.1%, to close at 6,129. The S&P 500 edged up 2 points, or 0.1%, to finish at 2,399 and the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 34 points, or 0.2%, to end at 20,942.
