WASHINGTON, DC – On Monday, July 11, at 1:00 p.m., House Democratic Whip Steny H. Hoyer (MD) will deliver a speech on House Democrats’ vision for how to restore the American people's faith in government. The speech, hosted by Georgetown University Law Center, The McCourt School of Public Policy, and The Beeck Center for Social Impact and Innovation, will address the loss of confidence in government and explore ways that Congress can restore the American people’s faith and trust that government can work effectively on their behalf.
Last year, as Whip Hoyer held hearings to solicit ideas from Members of Congress on how to update the Make It In America plan, several Members of the Democratic Caucus testified about how Congress can restore confidence in government. The ideas explored during the hearings will be discussed in Whip Hoyer’s speech.
