S&P 500 logs highest close of 2016
U.S. stocks ended higher Monday, with the S&P 500 finishing at its highest closing level so far this year, as rising oil prices helped support energy shares and Federal Reserve Chairwoman Janet Yellen played down Friday's weak jobs report. The S&P 500 gained 10.25 points, or 0.5%, to 2,109.38. The Dow industrials added 112.93 points, or 0.6%, to 17,920.13, with gains led by Boeing Company and Caterpillar Inc. . The Nasdaq Composite climbed 26.20 points, or 0.5%, to 4,968.71.
