Friend -- We have to change the way we think about gun violence -- because I refuse to accept the notion that we can't prevent incidents like what happened in San Bernardino, or in Colorado Springs, or Roseburg, Oregon from happening over and over again in the future. And this -- hundreds of mass shootings each year -- is not normal. We can't let it become normal. So if we truly care about this, and I know that the American people do, then we need to do something about the easy accessibility of guns for people who simply should not have them. We have got to make it harder for people to cause violence and chaos by getting their hands on firearms. Period. Enough is enough, and we can't just sit around waiting for change. We know we can't stop every act of violence, but what if we tried to stop just one. That's what the executive actions I announced on Tuesday are all about. So add your name next to mine if you're ready to work with me to end our epidemic of gun violence: my.democrats.org/Reduce-Gun-Violence If we want to prevent more tragic, senseless loss of life, the time to act is now -- before it's too late. Thanks for being with me on this. Barack Obama
