U.S. stocks edge higher as oil price comes off lows
U.S. stocks opened slightly higher on Monday as the main indexes recovered somewhat after a brutal selloff last week fueled by a continued rout in oil prices. On Monday, as crude-oil futures came off lows but were still near $35 a barrel, U.S. stocks switched between small gains and losses after the opening bell. The S&P 500 rose 3.7 points or 0.2% to 2,016. The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 31 points or 0.2% to 17,303. The Nasdaq Composite added 10 points or 0.2%, to 4,945.
