Arctic Policy by info@c-spanarchives.org (National Cable Satellite Corporation) Robert Papp delivered keynote remarks on U.S. operations in the Arctic and relations with other countries who have a presence in the region. He responded to questions from members of the audience. On April 24, 2015 the United States began a two-year term as as chair of the eight-member nation Arctic Council that addresses issues related to the governments and people of the region. Then discussants held a panel discussion. Topics included the challenges of balancing economic development with environmental protection, Russia's militarization of the region, and challenges facing U.S. communities in the region. "Examining Arctic Opportunities and Capabilities: Does the U.S. Have the Infrastructure, Ships and Equipment Required?" was held in the Allison Auditorium of the Heritage Foundation. www.c-spanvideo.org/program/327680-1
