U.S. stocks close higher; Dow industrials snaps losing streak
U.S. stocks closed near session highs Monday after Federal Reserve Vice Chairman Stanley Fischer suggested a rate hike could get delayed if inflation doesn't start rising to target levels. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 241.79 points, or 1.4%, to close at 17,615.17, after logging seven straight sessions of losses. The S&P 500 Index finished up 26.61 points, or 1.3%, at 2,104.18. The Nasdaq Composite Index advanced 58.25 points, or 1.2%, to close at 5,101.80.
