Hoyer Statement on 2015 House Floor Schedule WASHINGTON, DC - House Democratic Whip Steny H. Hoyer (MD) issued the following statement today after the House legislative schedule for calendar year 2015 was released: “Today, the Republican Majority unveiled its 2015 House legislative schedule. While we still have work to do before adjourning the 113th Congress – including passing an omnibus appropriations bill, a defense authorization measure, the Terrorism Risk Insurance Act, and tax extenders, there will be more work ahead in the 114th Congress. We have a responsibility to take action to grow the economy, spur job creation, keep our nation safe from threats like ISIS, reform our broken immigration system, and expand opportunities so all Americans can secure a place in our middle class. “The election made it clear that the American people are tired of the gridlock in Congress, and expect their representatives to work together to make their lives better. It is imperative that the House use its voting days in 2015 to work in a bipartisan way toward achieving progress on the major challenges we face. I look forward to continuing to work with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to get things done for the American people when the new Congress convenes in January.” View the schedule for the U.S. House of Representatives for calendar year 2015.
