Factory orders rise 1.1% in March WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) -- Orders for goods produced in U.S. factories rose 1.1% in March, the U.S. Commerce Department said Friday. Economists surveyed by MarketWatch had expected orders to rise 1.4%. Factory orders grew by a revised 1.5% in February, compared with a prior estimate of a 1.6% gain. Orders for durable goods -- products meant to last at least three years -- rose 2.9% in March. Orders for nondurable goods fell 0.6%.
