This is about one of your most important and fundamental rights: Your right to vote. For the past six weeks, the Conservative Government has tried to force its so-called "Fair Elections Act" through Parliament despite the many protests of Canadians. In a few short weeks, this bill could become law -- and time is running out to stop it. If passed, this Act will prevent thousands of Canadians from voting -- in particular seniors, Aboriginal peoples, and students, whose voices in shaping our country will be silenced. This is bad for democracy, it is bad for Canada, and it is bad for you. So, what am I going to do about it? On Wednesday, I challenged the Prime Minister to hold a free vote on this integral issue, and allow MPs to speak for their constituents - for you. If the bill does not have a free vote, I further committed that if elected, a Liberal government will repeal Mr. Harper's undemocratic changes to our country's Elections Act. Today, I urge you to stand with me and lend your voice to stop the Conservatives from forcing through this Unfair Elections Act. If you believe our country is as strong as the voice of its citizens, please sign and share our petition now: petition.liberal.ca/call-for-free-vote-on-fair-elections-act/ Thank You. Justin
