General Officer Announcements
Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel announced today that the president made the following nominations:
Marine Corps Col. Julian D. Alford has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Alford is currently serving as the head of Current Operations Branch, Plans, Policy and Operations, Headquarters Marine Corps, Washington, D.C.
Marine Corps Col. Norman L. Cooling has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Cooling is currently serving as the chief of staff, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C.
Marine Corps Col. Karsten S. Heckl been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Heckl is currently serving as the military assistant to the secretary of the Navy, Washington, D.C.
Marine Corps Col. William M. Jurney has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Jurney is currently serving as the executive officer to the commander, International Security Assistance Forces, Afghanistan.
Marine Corps Col. Tracy W. King has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. King is currently serving as the commanding officer, Combat Logistics Regiment 15, 1st Marine Logistics Group, Camp Pendleton, Calif.
Marine Corps Col. Michael E. Langley has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Langley is currently serving as the senior advisor, 215th Corps, Regional Command (Southwest), Afghanistan.
Marine Corps Col. Christopher J. Mahoney has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Mahoney is currently serving as the executive assistant to the deputy commandant for programs and resources, Headquarters Marine Corps, Washington, D.C.
Marine Corps Col. Joseph F. Shrader has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Shrader is currently serving as the chief of staff to the deputy assistant secretary of the Navy-expeditionary programs and logistics management, Washington, D.C.
Marine Corps Col. Austin E. Renforth has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Renforth is currently assigned to Marine Corps University, Quantico, Va.
Marine Corps Col. Paul J. Rock Jr., has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Rock is currently serving as the head of Command and Control Branch, Deputy Commandant for Aviation, Headquarters Marine Corps, Washington, D.C.
