Chrysler's sales increase 8% in January NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Chrysler Group LLC said Monday that its U.S. sales increased to 127,183 units in January, up 8% from a year earlier when the automaker recorded January sales of 117,731 units. The company had been expected to post January sales of 128,322, according to a forecast from Edmunds.com. Chrysler said its Jeep brand was a standout, recording a 38% increase in January sales for the largest sales gain of any Chrysler brand. Fiat SpA recently announced it's taking full control of Chrysler.
