U.S. stocks end up Dow at 15,848; Nasdaq gain best since Oct 10 NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- U.S. stocks rebounded on Thursday as investors welcomed data showing a robust pace of growth in the economy in the final quarter of last year, while upbeat earnings from Facebook Inc. boosted the tech sector. The main indexes recouped almost all of their losses since the start of the week. The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 109.82 points, or 0.7%, higher at 15,848.61. The S&P 500 finished the day up 20 points, or 1.1% at 1,794.19. The Nasdaq Composite added 71.69 points, or 1.8%, to 4,123.13 at the close, its largest one-day gain since Oct 10, 2013.
