The Tarrant County Democratic Party will be participating in several parades within the next week and I am inviting you all to participate with us. This will be a great opportunity to raise the party profile, meet other Democrats and have a great time.
We have received great response from our Democratic community. We have several members of our Democratic campaigns and clubs joining us. Our Ambassadors and Volunteers will be canvassing spectators, ensuring that all are registered to vote. Bring your kids and your neighbors, but please come!
The Fort Worth Stock Show Parade is Saturday, January 18, 2014.
The Stock Show Parade is held each year on the first Saturday of the Stock Show. More than 100,000 spectators line the streets of downtown Cowtown to watch this spectacular annual event.
What should you wear? The parade organizers are asking that participants dress western. We are suggesting blue attire. You can always add blue jeans and a blue shirt. Then, you can simply add a western hat or a blue bandana to create a western theme.
We will meet on 2nd Street, near the Fort Worth Public Library and Taylor Street at 9:00 AM.
Fort Worth Martin Luther King, Jr. Parade is Monday, January 20, 2014.
Joining the TCDP in this annual parade in Fort Worth is the perfect opportunity to honor the dream of Dr. King. Texas Democrats have led the fight for civil rights, and in this march we will pay homage to Dr. King, the great civil rights leader. His commitment to non-violence, equality and unity still guides us today.
What should you wear? Again wear blue and dress for comfort.
We will meet at Commerce and 12th Street in Downtown Fort Worth at 9:45 AM.
If you are interested in joining the TCDP in either of these parades, simply show up as indicated or email Paula Coakley at volunteer@tarrantdemocrats.org for more information.
