November construction spending rises 1%
WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) -- Outlays for U.S. construction projects rose 1% in November, led by private projects, the U.S. Department of Commerce reported Thursday. Economists polled by MarketWatch had expected a 0.8% increase. Spending on residential construction rose 1.7% in November, while nonresidential construction spending increased 0.6%. Total private construction spending rose 2.2%, while public spending fell 1.8%.
