Bank of England leaves monetary policy unchanged from MarketWatch.com - MarketPulse FRANKFURT (MarketWatch) -- The Bank of England, as expected, on Thursday said its Monetary Policy Committee left its key lending rate unchanged at a record low 0.5%, where it has remained since March 2009. Policy makers also left the central bank's program of asset purchases unchanged at 275 billion pounds ($437.3 billion) a month after they boosted it by 75 billion pounds, effectively reviving the central bank's quantitative-easing effort. The BOE said it expects the additional purchases to take another three months to complete.
