Putin names new Russian finance minister BOSTON (MarketWatch) -- Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has named Anton Siluanov as acting finance minister, replacing Alexei Kudrin, who resigned earlier this week, the BBC reported Tuesday. Siluanov most recently served as deputy finance minister under Kudrin, who resigned after declaring that he did not want to serve in the future cabinet of President Dimitry Medvedev. Medvedev and Putin plan to swap posts next year. The BBC added that some of Kudrin's financial oversight duties have been passed to another minister of the same rank, Igor Shuvalov.
