Japan PM election to go to run-off vote SYDNEY (MarketWatch) -- Japan's leadership election will go to a run-off vote between Finance Minister Yoshihiko Noda and Economic Minister Banri Kaieda. Kaieda won 143 votes in the Democratic Party of Japan leadership election, followed by Noda on 102 votes. Former foreign minister Seiji Maehara received 74 votes, Agriculture Minister Michihiko Kano got 52 votes while former transport minister Sumio Mabuchi gained 24 votes, according to reports. The results of the run-off were expected later in the day.
