Buffett says China-U.S. trade relationship can be a 'win-win situation' for the superpowers
Warren Buffett on Saturday said China and the U.S.--and the rest of the world--have too much at stake not to settle their differences over trade. Speaking in Omaha, Neb., the Sage of Omaha said "we've done remarkably well with trade, China's done remarkably well," adding that "the only problem is when one side wins a little too much." China and the U.S. trade it is a 'win-win situation'. The comments during Berkshire Hathaway Inc.'s well-attended shareholder meeting on Saturday morning come amid a tit-for-tat trade spat between Beijing and Washington that has intensified. The U.S. and China have asked one another to make sweeping concessions in trade talks over the past few days, during tense discussions to resolve their differences at meetings in Beijing, however, they have so far failed to bridge sharp divisions, raising the chances that each government will implement tariffs on tens of billions of dollars of the other country's exports.
