South Carolina State Archives by info@c-spanarchives.org (National Cable Satellite Corporation) Eric Emerson, director of South Carolina's Department of Archives and History, talked about some of the historic government records that are housed at the archives, including the "Ordinance for Secession." This ordinance, signed in 1860, led to the repeal of the state's adoption of the U.S. Constitution.
