Dow, S&P 500 and Nasdaq all close at records on the same day for first time in about 4 months
U.S. stocks end at records Monday as optimism about a near-term U.S.-China trade resolution and a third-quarter earnings season that has been better than feared buoyed sentiment on Wall Street. The Dow Jones Industrial Average notched its first closing record since July 15, finishing up 115 points, or 0.4%, to reach 27,462. The S&P 500 index closed up 0.4% at 3,078, while the Nasdaq Composite Index advanced 0.6% to close at 8,433. All three major stock benchmarks finished at records on the same day for the first time since July 15, according to Dow Jones Market Data. In corporate news, shares of Under Armour retreated 18.4%, notching its biggest percentage drop since Oct. 31, 2017 when the stock tumbled 23.7%, after it was disclosed that regulators are examining whether the sportswear maker shifted sales from quarter to quarter to appear healthier.
