Stocks end higher with S&P 500, Nasdaq notching 4th straight record close
Stocks continued their upward march Wednesday, with the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite notching their fourth straight record finishes. Stocks were buoyed by renewed talks by U.S. and Canadian trade negotiators and a rally in tech stocks. The S&P 500 ended 0.6% higher near 2,914.05, according to preliminary figures, while the Nasdaq Composite advanced 1% to end near 8,109.69. The Dow Jones Industrial Average ended around 61 points higher near 26,125, a gain of 0.2%. That left the blue-chip gauge within 1.9% of its record close set in late January.
