This time of year, I like to break out a little saying: Don't tell me what you value, show me your budget, and I'll tell you what you value.
I don't know about you, but I look at the budget that Barack just proposed, and I feel pretty good about what he values -- because it's a lot of what you and me as Democrats hold dear. His budget supports an economy that rewards hard work, strengthens the middle class, and puts our country on a more sustainable fiscal path. Those are values I believe in -- if you agree, add your name here.
I got to sit behind Barack last month as he laid out his vision for middle class economics to the country at the State of the Union. His budget invests in infrastructure, expands access to quality, affordable child care and early education, reforms the tax code to make it fairer for hardworking people, and improves opportunities for students (Jill, in particular, is a big fan of the proposal to make two years of community college tuition-free for students who work for it, which makes me happy).
That's just part of the vision we've laid out, though. We're taking action to ensure that workers have access to paid leave, affordable health care, and pathways to save for retirement. We're helping Americans launch and sustain their own businesses, and making sure that there are enough trained workers for them to hire.
Barack isn't just talking the talk -- he's backing it up with action. Now it's your turn. Add your name right now:
