U.S. stocks open higher ahead of ISM data Posted:Mon, 02 Jun 2014 13:31:31 GMT NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- The U.S. stock market began the month on a positive note, as upbeat manufacturing data from China lifted sentiment globally. Investors await the U.S. PMI and ISM manufacturing reports, due to be released shortly after the market open. The benchmark S&P 500 and the Dow Jones Industrial Average are in record territory after closing at all-time high levels on Friday. The S&P 500 opened a point higher at 1,924.77. The Dow Jones Industrial Average opened 11 points, or 0.1%, higher at 16,725.65. The Nasdaq Composite began the day 5 points, or 0.1%, higher at 4,247.62.
