WASHINGTON, DC - House Democratic Whip Steny H. Hoyer (MD) today announced the hiring of two new members of his staff. Daniel Silverberg has joined his staff as National Security Advisor, and Rachel Snyder is now serving as Legislative Assistant.
“I am glad to have Daniel and Rachel as part of my team,” said Whip Hoyer. “Both of them bring experience, sharp intellect, dedication to public service, and a strong commitment to helping House Democrats achieve results for the people we serve.”
Daniel Silverberg joins Whip Hoyer’s staff as National Security Advisor, overseeing foreign policy and national security issues. Previously Counsel and then General Counsel to the House Committee on Foreign Affairs for the past six years, Daniel also worked as an attorney in the Office of General Counsel at the Department of Defense. He obtained his undergraduate degree from Harvard University and is a 2003 graduate of Stanford Law School.
As Legislative Assistant, Rachel Snyder handles education policy issues. She earlier served on the legislative staff of Senator Barbara Mikulski (D-MD). A native of Montgomery County, Maryland, and a graduate of the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, Rachel received her law degree from the University of Baltimore School of Law in May 2013 and was recently sworn in to the Maryland Bar.
