Tom Mulcair hit the road last week to talk with Canadians about household budgets and share the NDP campaign to make life more affordable. Middle-class families from Thunder Bay to Edmonton welcomed Tom into their homes for a frank conversation – about credit card rates, gas prices and ATM fees among other issues. Thanks to thousands of Canadians like you who got involved in the NDP affordability campaign last fall, we’ve kept the pressure on Stephen Harper. He even promised to stop abusive payday lenders and end extra fees to receive bills in the mail. But he hasn’t done enough, and it’s on us to make sure he keeps his word and starts taking real action. Sign on today to help keep the pressure on. links.ndp.ca/a/l.x?t=jkmhajbekjpcmmoofnjkifaf&M=9&v=4For too long, Conservatives and Liberals have paid nothing but lip service to your pocketbook. Instead of taking the pressure off your household budget, they give big banks and corporate insiders all the breaks. The NDP has a practical plan to make life more affordable by: •capping ATM fees at 50 cents per transaction; •widening access to low-rate credit cards; •ending gas-price gouging; •stopping the “pay-to-pay” rip-off for paper bills; and •ending payday loan exploitation. Thousands of Canadians have already joined the campaign. Sign on today – and help keep the momentum going: affordable.ndp.caWe’ll keep working to make life more affordable for Canadian families. Thanks for helping out, Glenn Glenn Thibeault MP, Sudbury Canada’s New Democrats
