Italian government bond yields on rise from MarketWatch.com - MarketPulse FRANKFURT (MarketWatch) -- Italian government bond yields rose Thursday, with the 10-year yield pushing back up to 7.30%, a rise of 18 basis points, according to FactSet Research. The 10-year yield spiked to more than 7.4% on Wednesday, a euro-era high and well above the 7% threshold viewed as unsustainable for the nation's long-term borrowing costs. The yield on two-year Italian paper rose 22 basis points to 7.18%, while the five-year yield remained above the 10-year yield at 7.66%, up 19 basis points. French and Spanish yields were also on the rise. The 10-year French government bond yield rose 14 basis points to 3.34%, whle the 10-year Spanish government bond yield rose 12 basis points to 5.91%. Yields rise as bond prices fall.
