Water Desalination and the California Drought by info@c-spanarchives.org (National Cable Satellite Corporation) Joshua Haggmark talked about how the city was coping with severe drought conditions in California. In the early 1990s, the city constructed a seawater desalination facility to supplement the water supply. The facility was put into standby when drought conditions eased. The city was bringing the facility back online to help during the latest drought. C-SPAN's Local Content Vehicles (LCVs) made a stop in their "2015 LCV Cities Tour" in Santa Barbara, California, from January 9-15, 2016, to feature the history and literary life of the community. Working with the Cox Communications local affiliate, they visited literary and historic sites where local historians, authors, and civic leaders were interviewed. The history segments air on American History TV (AHTV) on C-SPAN3 and the literary events/non-fiction author segments air on Book TV on C-SPAN2 www.c-spanvideo.org/program/404332-1
