The final 2013 financial reports for major federal political parties are out, and there are two big numbers I want you to see: •Stephen Harper’s Conservatives spent $1.2 million on TV advertising. •Justin Trudeau’s Liberals: $1.5 million. In short, we were outspent on the airwaves 10 to 1 last year. Campaigning for 2015 has started earlier than ever before – and we have to keep closing the gap if we’re going to compete. Chip in $5 or more today to make sure our hard work on the ground gets a fighting chance against the millions being spent on the air. New Democrats will always have to work harder than the old-line parties. We don’t count on easy money from well-connected friends or rich insiders – and that’s something we can all be proud of. We know that it’s one person talking to another, knocking on doors and making calls that will make the difference on Election Day. But we can’t ignore this kind of spending gap and expect things to go our way. Donate $5 or more right now to help close the gap: www.ndp.ca/closing-the-gapDon’t forget that your $5 donation can cost you as little as $1.25 after generous political tax credits. Thanks, Dave Dave Hare Associate Director, Operations Canada’s New Democrats
